What is the Treatment?

We have all heard of Anti wrinkle injections, and we all know someone that has them, but do you really understand what they are? book a consultation with me at my clinic and I will explain further. The medication used, it prescription only, so not suitable for everyone. At the consultation I will explain exactly how safe and effective this product is and how to works to smooth and soften lines, creating a fresher version of you!

How Does It Work?

Anti wrinkle injections, once administered block signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle then cannot contract. This makes the wrinkles relax and soften.

Anti wrinkle injections won’t help with wrinkles caused by the sun or gravity, or the dreaded sleep lines.

Treatment Time

30 mins

Anti wrinkle Injections takes only a few minutes. You won’t need anaesthetic cream.

After consultation the therapist uses a small needle to inject the product into the specific muscles with only a minor discomfort.

What to Expect

The product used generally takes 14 days to take full effect. It’s best to avoid alcohol starting at least 1 week before the procedure. You should also stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks before treatment to help prevent bruising and swelling.

The effects from Anti wrinkle injections will last up to 3 months. As muscle action slowly returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and will need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.

Down Time

Treatment usually takes around 15 minutes.

If there’s a little bruising, you can easily camouflage it with makeup. There is no downtime and you can resume normal activities right away.

Aftercare Advice

The treatment is a quick and safe procedure which has very little impact on usual activity on the day of injection. For optimal results, the following precautions are suggested:

• No rubbing or massaging of the injected area for 4 hours after treatment.

• No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

• Keep upright for 4 hours — no lying on your front. Avoid leaning forward.

• Avoid head wear that is tightly fitted across the forehead.

• Avoid excessive alcohol or medically necessary blood thinning medication before the treatment to prevent bruising.

• No facials or aesthetic treatment of the skin or face until 2 weeks after treatment
